The Objective of the Research

There are a gazillion and one web frameworks, platforms and languages available out in the marketplace and it is extremely difficult for companies to make cost effective, timely, and objective evaluations of these technologies. In our experience, technology zeal, emotions, subjective perspectives, self-interest, and politics have driven a large percentage of these decisions over the past ten years. The goal of this research is to provide a concrete, objective assessment of current web application technology platforms (WATP) using an adapted Decision Analysis and Resolution (DAR) process as defined by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI).
